PDBA has established an advisory committee to develop a youth initiative program within our region. We have identified the following:

  • Among high school dragon boat team development, the San Francisco Bay Area, through CDBA and BAD, has established one of the strongest youth HS programs in the US.
    • Held the Eleventh Annual CDBA Youth Dragon Boat Race in 2012
    • Over 30 teams from California, Oregon and Arizona participated
  • California has the largest number of University and College dragon boat teams (a direct benefit from the HS programs) in the US
    • 12 Colleges in California
    • 2 Colleges in Arizona
  • These young people represent the next generation of leadership and growth for this sport in our region.

Objectives:

  • To promote collaborative interaction among the youth coaches in our region
  • To provide financial and other support to youth programs
  • To share our experience and knowledge to help develop other youth programs
