Room and Board

If you are planning a team trip, most teams prefer to stay in the same hotel and block of rooms.  Since many teams travel to the same races year after year, they often book rooms months in advance and it is in your best interest to do so as well.

Paddles

Flight regulations and costs change on a regular basis, so check with your airline for specific restrictions and costs associated with equipment shipping.

It can be expensive and difficult to for individual paddlers to fly with their own paddle and many teams opt to combine this cost into one or two bulk carriers to save on cost and headache (except for whoever is stuck carrying the bulk bag).

The choice of a hard or soft case is more personal preference but the following have been successfully used to transport paddles in bulk:

• Golf bags
• Sport tubes (snowboard carriers)
• Rifle cases
• Crates
• Specialty dragon boat paddle cases

Within the US

Travel within the US

Outside of the US (including Canada)

Because they speak English and when arriving at the destination the signs and environment look familiar, many forget that Canada is a different country requiring the same documentation as travel to any other country.
